Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Mints and Cherry Coke. Almost obscene amount of vanilla. It mellows a touch to reveal maple syrup.
Palate: Silky texture, but the flavours seem a little muted and contrast with the nose. Blackberries and elderberries. Tarragon with some peppermint. Sour cherries and grapefruits.
Finish: Medium length. Peppery and sharp, with elderberries, nutmeg and fennel.
Comment: Not at all bad, but the palate felt a little stifled and underwhelming.

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: All-American at first. Pickled gherkin and mustard, cornbread and haybarns. Also lemon, black pepper and wood shavings, before a delicate floral violet. Oh, and black tea too.
Palate: Simultaneously sweet and earthy, with a raspy texture and decent acidity. Vanilla pod, charred wood, cocoa powder, newly cut oak and sharp kumquat. More black tea leaves and a dusty character.
Finish: That well-known combination of vanilla and jalapeños.
Comment: Like licking a splintered piece of oak… but in a good way!
