Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Very gentle at first, not giving much away. Takes you into a bakery, flour, proving dough, a faint warm yeast note and out of the oven pastries. Also a fatty note, as in the white part of Parma ham.
Palate: Again gentle, but moves into orchard fruits, apples and pears. A custard tart note, the dusting of nutmeg gives some spice. Trail mix, raisins, pineapple and coconuts.
Finish: Decent length with hints of toffee apple sweetness.
Comment: Shy and gentle, but once open there is much to enjoy.

Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Quite austere at first. Crushed peanuts or cashews. Linseed oil. Baked apples begin to show, with traces of fresh wholemeal bread. Meaty, boiled ham, then vegetative and herbal.
Palate: Silky and very gentle stuff: baked apples, drifting into cider territory, with a biscuity maltiness showing. Hops. Custard Cream biscuits. Vanilla, dried apricots and pears.
Finish: Medium-length, full of orchard fruits, and heather honey.
Comment: Curious at first, but it ends up being a bit of a charmer.
