Tasting notes

Taster Becky Paskin

Nose: What starts out as fresh, juicy fruits becomes stewed apples and cinnamon-spiked poached pears with plump sultanas, vanilla ice cream and some chocolate buttons.
Palate: Thick and mouth-coating, like melted chocolate with raisins, dried fruits and chopped hazelnuts, and an aromatic red chilli warmth to it.
Finish: Chilli chocolate, toasted oak and buttered toast.
Comment: This would pair nicely with a share bag of Cadbury’s chocolate buttons.

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Plenty of chocolate straight off, cocoa and marshmallow sweetness, dried apricots and papaya pieces, light freshly ground coffee beans, cherries in brandy.
Palate: Sweet but full of spices. A fattiness like king prawns on the barbeque with a sweet chilli dip. Plenty of black tea tannins here too.
Finish: Bang, there is the ABV – huge alcohol hit, chilli and honey sweetness and heat.
Comment: Takes you on a serious rollercoaster, that ABV shows up at the end. Be sure to use water judiciously though.
