Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Like a patisserie counter, full of glazed fresh fruit-covered pastries, a dusting of icing sugar and thick buttery pastry.
Palate: Buttery toasted brioche bread, with slices of nectarine in syrup, vanilla cream and a herbal stalky note, with ginger spice.
Finish: A slightly caramelised granola note, with toasted almonds and spice lingering.
Comment: A really enjoyable interplay between the light and bright fruit and the rich toasted notes. Really well done.
8.5
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Light and oily, like sour cream and olive oil. Buttery banana bread sponge cake topped with toffee icing. Dried apricot and dried red apple slices. Chopped walnuts.
Palate: Medium bodied and silky, but concentrated. Pear with muscovado, grape must, sour gooseberry and raspberry, clove spice and fennel. With time, toffee sauce and chocolate chip cookie. Subtle allspice, fruity esters and raspberry leaf.
Finish: Medium-long. Oily and creamy.
Comment: Complex and shifting, with a core that remains familiar.
