Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Cherry jam, plum wine, strawberries and dark chocolate cake with toffee icing. Spearmint, candied orange, toffee apple and sandalwood. Pomegranate juice and dried cranberry.
Palate: Medium-full. Concentrated fruits of the forest, with toffee and dark chocolate. Definitely in Black Forest gateau territory. Some unlit cigar tobacco, brandy-soaked raisins and blood orange.
Finish: Medium-long. The fruits fade and almond builds to the end.
Comment: Elegant and indulgent.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Treacle sponge, covered in cherries and a red berry compote. Vanilla cream and almonds, followed by pine and furniture polish.
Palate: Very smooth, it almost becomes fruit and nut chocolate bar, then more treacle. Strawberries and cream appear, with sage and hazelnut milk. Pine brings light spice.
Finish: Sweet caramel and ginger spice linger until it becomes quite herbal.
Comment: You go for a ride with this – heat takes over a touch on the palate because of the delicacy of its flavours.
