Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Reminds me of a berry fruit smoothie, honey and goat’s cheese. Then turns to black cherries, cedar wood humidors and a heavy oily note, almost waxed jackets.
Palate: Tooth meltingly sweet, almost cloying. But then its pulled back by a dark cherry sourness. Dusty rye spices and powdered ginger root.
Finish: Warming with that cedar note returning.
Comment: Plenty going on here. Some aged rye seems to be in the mix. No wonder people are starting to sit up and notice Canadian whisky.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Sweet. Syrupy. Treacle. Demerara sugar. Evokes a rum. Ripe banana. Cane sugar. Where are the cereals?
Palate: Very sweet. The same rum profile. That CANNOT be a whisky. Touch of mango and guava. Soft spices.
Finish: Sweet and slightly spicy as well.
Comment: For me a rum. Makes me think of Angostura rums... Bizarre. Now that I know what I tasted... a Canadian whisky.
