Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Big and fruity. Cherry, overripe melon, tinned apricot, old apple. Mulled cider, black banana, confiture. Plenty of oak with water.
Palate: Immediate spice. Another forest-like dram. Fairly dry and grippy some dried herbs, fine oak. Much better with with water which allows chocolate and nutmeg to come out along with maraschino, vanilla slice and orange peel.
Finish: Long and biscuity with light spice.
Comment: Balanced, mature. Recommended.
8.3
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Treacle toffee, cream toffee, toffee apples? Ripe red apples. Calvados. Pears? Milk chocolate. Illusive smoke.
Palate: Light but well structured. Caramel and burnt toffee top notes with a slight tart and savoury undercurrent. (Flaumkuchen?)
Finish: Creamy and rounded.
Comment: Caramel and creamy notes dominate this whisky, which could be boring were it not for the intriguing hints or ripe fruit and Calvados.
