Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Christmas cake and stewed plums. Sticky fig jam and cold, rare beef. There’s bitter marmalade mixed with a very gentle smoke note. Dying wood embers and the hint of pine resin.
Palate: Earthy with touches of Parma violets. Black banana and golden syrup. Handfuls of honey roasted cashew nuts.
Finish: Long and lingering with waves of runny caramel and chocolate sauce.
Comment: Clearly been looked after and put together with some care. Has grace but also a youthful zip to it.

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Hazelnut and apple crumble. Victoria sponge with juicy strawberry jam. Freshly washed linen, cassia bark, milk sorbet and Irn Bru bars.
Palate: A surprising change with denser tones appearing with macerated berries, over-baked prunes and rhubarb with treacle toffees and burnt brioche buns. Over-stewed chamomile tea.
Finish: An abrupt finish with touches of sour cream and cider vinegar creating a sharpness.
Comment: Arguably one-dimensional with a rich, malty consistency.
