Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Earthy with a little mulchy oak and woodland leaves, then sweetness comes through with cola cubes and ginger cake. Gets sweeter as it goes with all-butter shortbread and coconut oil.
Palate: All sweetness up front, cherry Bakewell tarts, marzipan with a little clove oil spice. The cola cubes are here too, and it all slowly gets wrapped up with a little gentle smoke.
Finish: Smoke lingers with plum jam and honey-roasted nuts.
Comment: Full of spices and promises. Would like to see a little more punch to it though.
Taster   Becky Paskin
Nose: There’s a funky top note at first, like sweaty Dutch cheese, but it soon gives way to a dark, fruity Armagnac with thick caramel sauce, currants and furniture polish.
Palate: Oily at first as that cheesiness washes over the tongue, then the fruits come into play: raisins, prunes and pickled walnuts.
Finish: Fruity, dry and funky. Reminds me of a VS Cognac.
Comment: Interesting stuff, though not entirely cohesive for me.
