Tasting notes
Taster   Becky Paskin
Nose: Confectioners sugar and McDonald’s soft-serve vanilla ice cream with warm caramel sauce. Booze-soaked raisins and roasted chestnuts.
Palate: Malty, sour and a little hoppy. Water brings out cooked orchard fruit and strawberry and blackcurrant jam, peppered with baking spices like vanilla and cinnamon. There’s just a touch of smoke and sulphur there too.
Finish: A touch sulphuric and bitter.
Comment: There’s a touch of butyric too but less pronounced.
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Goat’s cheese and honey. Hazelnut spread and condensed milk. Warm Eccles cakes with dark chocolate ice cream sprinkled with salt crystals and cocoa nibs.
Palate: The sweetness of honey balanced with blue goat’s cheese at first, then hot milk and Weetabix, brown sugar and apple compote. There’s hints of roast corn too.
Finish: Takes its time with a mix of salt and cocoa nibs.
Comment: The elements separately are great but needs a bridge from each of them to be more balanced.
