Taster Christopher Coates
Nose: Blackberry jam, pipe tobacco, raisins, subtle smoke, faintly petrolic, camphor and mineral oil. There’s black coffee, bergamot orange, dark chocolate and treacle, too.
Palate: Light bodied. Raspberry and blackberry coulis, subtle mint, and candied orange. Some coffee with cream, candied ginger, cinnamon and caramel, too. A distinct woodiness, but only delicate tannin.
Finish: Medium-short. The sweeter, heavier notes dissipate first, leaving the berries.
Comment: Solid showing by Switzerland.
