Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Dark chocolate truffles, molasses, treacle cake, and forest fruits. Peanut butter and Medjool date, with a whiff of Turkish delight. Nutmeg, banana and rummy esters bring up the rear.
Palate: Toffee apple and Jamaican ginger cake, with milk chocolate and red apple. A little pipe tobacco and nutmeg with hot milk, too.
Finish: Medium length, with delicate cinnamon and plum.
Comment: A delightfully rich and well-balanced dram. A real slow sipper.
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Like heading down into an old cellar full of wooden crates, warm and musty. Vanilla cream, baked apple and sourdough loaf.
Palate: Corky mustiness, then fennel and heather honey. Cracked pepper warmth, grassiness and subtle fig.
Finish: Sandalwood and sweet ginger spice that dries out quite quickly.
Comment: It’s very drying and the musty note is perhaps a little much for me, however, water does mellow that out a little.
