Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Mildly citrussy and herbal. The minty malt is lovingly tendered by some delightful oak. Very well balanced.
Palate: A wave of sweet malt is retained by a waxy body; mouth-watering and amazingly fresh for its age.
Finish: Deft vanilla oak slowly dries the sweet malt. Lots of cream toffee to finish.
Comment: An amazingly relaxed malt for such great age; delicate and understated. Impressive.
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Less aromatic than the 1987. Less spicy, too. A hint of peat.
Palate: Quite syrupy and lively. Icing sugar. Mince pies in front of a log fire.
Finish: Cough sweets. Dusty spiciness. Warming.
Comment: Less soft than the younger expression. A drier, more robust, expression.
