Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Pulsating peat, hint of lavender and mint. Some vanilla sweetens it with the malt.
Palate: Rich, oily, fat, chewy and then peaty malt that is almost perfectly sweet and clean.
Finish: Multi-layered with the peat forming the mighty base and then some supremely toasty malt notes arrive.
Comment: This is a very high quality, complex version of an underestimated malt at an optimum age. Fabulous!

Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fragrant. Tobacco. Floral. Juniper. Some seaweed.
Palate: Sweet, seaweed, juniper, Guinea pepper. Drying.
Finish: Stalky. Late surge of flowery, peppery, dryness. Very Long.
Comment: An excellent example of Caol Illa, a highly distinctive malt that is gaining in recognition.
