Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fresh burnt grass. Garden bonfires.
Palate: Honey. Heather. Sherryish, nutty, buttery. Marshmallow.
Finish: Gradual emergence of smoky warmth. Like sitting in front of a log fire.
Comment: A lovely whisky. A sweetish bottling. More complex and elegant than the 'official' 12 Years Old, but not quite as expressive as the 18.
9.0
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Dense, concentrated nose: mead/metheglin, spiced apple, singed orange peel, peat smoke. Beerenauslese with peat on top.
Palate: As you'd expect, thick with a good feel. Quite phenolic, subtle and elegant.
Finish: Medium smoky.
Comment: A Norse nose, concentrated and delicious with more smoke than you normally find, though maybe a little woody.
