Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Cloudy lemonade and fresh ginger, yeasty sourdough and Horlicks malt drink. Dib-Dab sweets and rice paper. Tomato stem and dried mango and papaya.
Palate: A whole jug of blended fresh orchard fruits, with honey and rice cake. White grape juice and elderflower cordial. Cornbread and delicate caramels bring balance to this.
Finish: Medium, fading on caramel, mango and apple skin.
Comment: A textbook Speysider right here.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Interesting umami notes, barbequed brisket, charcoal, then tar. Shoe polish, buttercream, icing sugar, then melon and dried banana.
Palate: Sweet barbequed pork with some kind of honey glaze, ginger spice, damp embers and sandalwood. Sweetness of fluffy pancakes, and earthy chestnuts.
Finish: The umami and chestnut notes really linger, with the warmth drying things out.
Comment: Very unexpected, it’s quite heavy but there’s enough light to keep it balanced and enticing.
