Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Banoffee pie up front, creamy notes and faint under-ripe banana, cigar box spices, bran flakes. It’s very green, with green apple skin and a rubber shoe sole bringing a little peat.
Palate: Plaster, backed up by a lot of floral green apple skins, gorse bush, some damp cut grass, under-ripe melon and light fleshy fruit. Slightly nutty hint of hazelnut with clove spice and mascarpone.
Finish: Medium finish, lingering rubbery notes and it dries out with that light melon.
Comment: This really opens up with a little time on the palate.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Aloe, under-ripe banana, uncooked bread dough, and elastic bands. Delicately creamy, with honeydew melon. In time, some peach sorbet.
Palate: Eucalyptus, pear drop, and delicately medicinal. There’s anise, green apple and it’s all underpinned by restrained vanilla notes.
Finish: The pear drop sweetens up on the finish and a honey note develops.
Comment: What we call in the office ‘green’ whisky. Pleasantly distillate forward and toeing the line of maturity. I like it, but it will be divisive.
