Taster Sara Smith
Nose: Strong, robust peat; complex, with the aroma of Applewood accompanied by a tang of chutney and an earthy note. Vibrant spice, sea salt and ginger, and honey, before a return to creamy, smoked cheese.
Palate: Rich, well-rounded wood notes with savoury spice and a pleasant, measured peat. Sweetness followed by a flash of salt water and charcoal, and a dry note.
Finish: Quieter, but genuine notes of earthy smoke, dry wood, sherry, cocoa, and oatcake.
Comment: I enjoyed exploring this whisky, and loved its combination of peat and spice.
