Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Definitely a mariner with the complete package: tar, brine, smoke, wet shells. Smoked fish. A sweeter note comes through. Lemon drop. Tangerine juice.
Palate: Smooth, nearly syrupy on the tongue. Delivering fruity notes interlaced with smoke and lots of aniseed.
Finish: Drier, with a spicy tang. Slightly sooty after taste.
Comment: An excellent dram. The companion to your oyster buffet this summer? I would drink it slightly chilled to have the sea break in deeper.
8.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Delicate but insistent smoke. Wet fish and a touch of tar, slightly seaweedy. Broom. Cool tiles.
Palate: More expressive. Clean slightly grassy with good peaty attack. Fills out in the back palate becoming oilier/scallop. Fresh and edgy.
Finish: Clean some nuts and lots of smoke.
Comment: Balanced and clean.
