Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: A very expressive smoke 'n' fresh fruit combo straight off the bat; cured smoked meat, blackberry leaf, raspberries and a touch of carbolic soap round this one out nicely.
Palate: The smoke is initially lighter, giving way to the lighter fruits, but then it becomes peppery, more wood laden and ultimately very dominant.
Finish: Lingering notes of linseed, ground black pepper and a charred ember note.
Comment: A finely integrated peat monster. A little dry but pleasing nonetheless.
8.3
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Malty and fruity. Pear cider. Smoky but more a light aerial type of smoke and rather faint. The pear note is constant. Pear drop, pears poached in a vanilla syrup. On time, a grassy aroma. Drying hay. With water, more vanilla.
Palate: Sweet and fizzy. Again the smoke is in the background. Light fruit, lemonade. Sherbety. Uncooked pear.
Finish: Fizzy, dry with an almond aftertaste.
Comment: A refreshing young bourbon matured dram. Not complex but well balanced. It needs water though to get smoother.
