Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Huge hit of peat smoke, soaked in brine and set alight in a field of golden early and vanilla pods. Some coal dust and dream topping.
Palate: Extremely delicate given the ABV, and the addition of water brings out lemon sherbet, wood smoke, peat and heather. Summer on Islay – sunshine one moment, rain the next.
Finish: A light base spirit but big tones of peat work well together.
Comment: A well crafted light spited, but big flavoured peaty Scotch.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Lightly toffeed, with fresh lemon, salt, camphor and mint. Shows sweet, juicy apricot, peach and pear with barley, earthy peat, violets and manure.
Palate: Opens with barley and sweet vanilla. Drying peat, salt and alcohol with underlying lightly honeyed fruit and camphor notes.
Finish: Neat it is very dry and alcoholic with mouth-watering lemon and herbal peat. Diluted there’s a touch of barley, apricot and wood spice.
Comment: Neat, this is superb. I love the way the nose slowly unwinds to reveal layers of complexity.
