Tasting notes
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: A bowl of orange sorbet, with olive oil, vanilla and micro-coriander, eaten on a path of broken seashells in the sea air. A fire burns on the beach.
Palate: I love the texture, it’s really oily. That olive oil and vanilla dominate before you chew on a salt-encrusted charred stick, sitting among the grass on sand dunes.
Finish: A yin-and-yang mix of salt and vanilla lingers on.
Comment: The main interest with this is the oily mouthfeel. A balanced, easy-drinking dram that I could drink a lot of in one sitting.
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Grassy, gentle vanilla, fresh green apples and it’s all rather estery. It’s very subtle, perhaps too much so.
Palate: The spirit dominates – flashes of new make, custard and lemon zest. Black pepper. Slightly brackish, creamy and even soapy. Parma Violets. Solvent notes linger.
Finish: Short and grassy, but a little disappointing, with touches of melon and grapefruit.
Comment: Under-whelming. There’s just little to recommend I’m afraid.
