Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Like opening a tin of strawberries, that packed fruit sweet hit and sugar syrup. Redcurrant jelly. Hints of oxidised wine. The sweetness of Madeira cake and custard.
Palate: That sweetness comes through straight off. There’s gently building spices, clove and cinnamon buns. Roasted peanuts with a little chilli and lime spice.
Finish: Those tannins take centre stage then slowly give way to toasted peanuts and brown sugar.
Comment: Feels and tastes pretty decadent.
Taster   Becky Paskin
Nose: Soft and a little shy to start, but soon opens into baking spices and sponge pudding with dried fruits and grape juice.
Palate: Sweet and silky, it glides across the palate. There’s plenty of dried fruit, orange zest, vanilla caramel, soft brown sugar and a delicate nuttiness, but this is an incredibly gentle whisky.
Finish: Toasted nuts and a hint of char join some soft, dry spice.
Comment: A really easy drinker. With those orange and spice notes this would work well in an Old Fashioned.
