Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Brilliantly industrial and oily. Black fruit territory: blackcurrant juice, fresh blackberries and elderberries, with a splash of port. Plum jam. Coca Cola.
Palate: Elegant and silky, but retains those huge flavours from the nose. A bittersweet profile with a mixture of gaminess, pontack sauce, balsamic vinegar and hedgerow jams.
Finish: Long, with oak. Dried prunes and raisins. Tobacco, and acidity. Delicious!
Comment: Superbly balanced. Full of attitude and individuality. Bravo!

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Dates, prunes, raisins, cranberries… if there’s a fruit and it’s been dried, it’s in here. This is fruit cake doused in decent aged cognac – beautiful fruit and leather notes reminiscent of quality eaux de vie.
Palate: Deep, unctuous and rich. Sulphur, chocolate, prunes, peanuts and date sponge dominate, a hint of parma ham pops up, and then it’s back to the heavier sweet stuff.
Finish: The same, with black pepper spice on top. Goes on and on…
Comment: One for sherry fans. The nose was my favourite part.
