Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Smoked kippers and melted butter, Yellow dyed smoked cod. Bracken and damp moss. Plenty of sulphur here. Fresh green cabbage (not boiled).
Palate: Smoked salmon and capers. So much smoke, toasted pine nuts and charred wood. Sweetcorn cobs cooked in a volcanic vent – sweetness and sulphur.
Finish: Short and very ash laden, that smoke just keeps going. A little sherbet fizz as well.
Comment: Lovely stuff. The layers of smoke and sulphur are well integrated into the sweetness of the whole thing. A delight.

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Soft and rich aromas creating depth with crunchy peanut butter, creamy nougat, almonds and roasted hazelnuts with aromas of bubblegum ice cream, rose lemonade and gorse flowers.
Palate: Lots of spice and all things nice with cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise. Sugar coated almonds, caramelised jalapeños, double cream and dark chocolate covered nuts.
Finish: Nutty and just a little creamy.
Comment: A Double Decker and Snickers freakshake. Guilty pleasures indeed.
