Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Clean, with layered tropical fruit. Eucalyptus, red fruit, vanilla. Oak. Good weight and breadth.
Palate: Oily, fruity and juicy. Almost Irish. Firm with obvious oaken structure but sufficient sweetness (cocoa, liquorice, vanilla) to carry.
Finish: Lightly gripping.
Comment: Images of a weatherbeaten oak. Mature, but sweet-hearted.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Oaky. Beeswax. Cooked apples. Crème brûlée. Raw bread dough. Peat in the back.
Palate: Sweet at start but spices put taste buds on fire. Passion fruit. Oak gradually takes over.
Finish: Dry, dusty, spicy, slightly astringent.
Comment: The creamy notes on the nose suggest more sweetness on the palate. Oak speaks up.
