Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Mellow and sweet but with an ever-building aroma of smoky pimenton, earthy heathery smoke and touches of wet (wooden) fish boxes. Complex.
Palate: Balanced and smoky (that pimenton again) which then leads into bacon, then smoked fish and then finally to freshly salted mackerel.
Finish: Smoke re-emerges. Firm.
Comment: The best so far in this series of 30yo Taliskers but to be nit-picky about it just a little more activity from the cask would have elevated it still further.
8.8
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Perfumy. Light, floral. With an earthy note. Humus, wet leaves. Damp wood. Vetiver root. With water, more earthy notes. Fungal.
Palate: Satin-smooth. Vanilla toffee. Gingerbread. A lovely rich feel on the tongue. Ripe oak. Sweet nougat.
Finish: Dry, spicy. Gingerbread spices.
Comment: A well matured whisky. Rich, complex, displaying both outdoor and indoorflavours. Wintery.
