Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: A clean, medicinal peat hit, barbequed sweet peppers, dried chilli flakes, ground black pepper. Then almost a lavendar soap note, a sweetness, cinnamon bagels, incense.
Palate: A great balance of sweet notes (caramel, apple pie and toffee pennies) and savoury (fresh bread, roast capsicums and dired chillies). Brewing puerh tea note too.
Finish: Those chillies and an emergent oak note give grip and spice.
Comment: So much going on but all well integrated and balanced.

Taster Neil Ridley

Nose: A hot spicy peat, integrates with peppercorns, some roasted red pepper, but sits alongside something a little sweeter and more perfumed. Some toffee sweetness is there too.
Palate: The pepper from the nose coats the tongue and you're immediately into a very savoury affair, with oak cakes, a touch of red chilli, but backed with a hint of sweetness.
Finish: The pepperiness dies away to reveal a lingering oakiness and red apple skin.
Comment: Potent, yet inviting, this has plenty going on to keep the keenest of palates entertained with it.
