Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: A classic sublime sherried whisky. Raisins, dried apricots and sultana, with crushed hazelnuts and hints of brandy. Orange marmalade. Golden syrup cake. Divine.
Palate: Dense texture. A brilliant execution – echoes the nose, but adds maple syrup, baked pears, blackcurrants with aniseed. Delightful underlying nuttiness and olive oil quality.
Finish: Long, oily, with oranges, raisins, hazelnuts, dates and warming cinnamon.
Comment: Textbook stuff. Perfectly executed and well balanced.

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Woody and spicy. Sticky toffee pudding with dates, bitter walnuts, Brazil nuts and rubber. Plenty of orange: a spray of orange oils, a sprig of orange blossom and the leaves from orange citrus fruits.
Palate: Velvety and unctuous, with ginger, cinnamon and paprika sprinkled atop that toffee sponge. Chocolate, followed by pink grapefruit.
Finish: Hot, sweet spice, with warming ginger outlasting the rest.
Comment: For the fireside – bonfires or indoors. Should be enjoyed year-round.
