Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Fresh planed oak. Danish pastries, custard tarts with nutmeg, these move quickly into crunchy grain. The wood elements start to take over again, sawmills and drying soft wood.
Palate: Smooth and silky. That malt edge starts to come through. White chocolate with raisins and hazelnuts. Jasmine flowering tea. Clear honey.
Finish: There are little ripples of spices as this takes its time to dry.
Comment: A very gentle and velvety whiskey, great finish, and harks to the promise of summers to be.

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Rich and luscious cherry leather, toasted corn and a barbecued steak smothered in a Strathdon blue cheese sauce. Baked braeburn apples, cloves followed by butterscotch Angel Delight. Yum.
Palate: Rammed with light umami notes of crème fraiche-stuffed peppers, tomato ketchup and cranberry-filled Wensleydale. Caramelised melon and lime candies.
Finish: Super sweet oranges and that buttery texture from fatty meats.
Comment: Eating a full Scottish breakfast with super sweet Tropicana orange juice.
