Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: This is like a genie that arises, with Moroccan spices, well cooked veg, sweets drizzled in honey and a bold, big body.
Palate: Oily and rich, this has a dusty age to it, but also a sweetness akin to a well aged rum. There is banana, cherry, pear and dried fruits all polished off, excuse the pun, with beeswax.
Finish: Excellently balanced, rich honey and floral heather are the headline acts here.
Comment: Three wishes you say? More, more, more...
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Initially shy but molasses, coffee and hickory emerge with malty baked fruit and spice. Aromas become grainy. Light muscavado sugar coated tangerine and dusty violets emerge. Lovely intensity.
Palate: Moist and lightly doughy. Hints of malt, milk chocolate and spicy grains. Lovely depth with dried fruit, liquorice and wood. Wow! Those spices realty bite!
Finish: Intense and mouth-watering. Serious spice riot going on! Dry, woody, bitter chocolate finish and lingering spice.
Comment: Stunning stuff! Intense and spicy. If this isn’t whisky of the month I’ll eat my shorts!
