Tasting notes

Taster Joel Harrison

Nose: Fresh, creamy peat with vanilla, heather and some light coffee notes.
Palate: The vanilla drives this with peat smoke and lavender ice cream. Oreo cookies crumbled over whipped cream.
Finish: Smoke again which wisps away into the distance leaving lavender and vanilla behind.
Comment: An easy drinking peaty offering which could lead to an empty bottle pretty quickly.

Taster Martine Nouet

Nose: Marine. Briny, wet sand, smoked fish. But also soft seashells like cockles cooked in butter. Opening on sweet notes. Lemonade, vanilla. Star anise. Classic Bourbon cask maturation.
Palate: Sweet with a fizzy feel. The same smoke note as on the palate. Salty sensation. Aniseed lozenges. Drying on light spices.
Finish: Short but pleasant.
Comment: An easygoing, straightforward and gently uplifting mariner.
