Tasting notes
Taster   Alwynne Gwilt
Nose: Nice, bright fruits, almost smells sunny. Good sharp, citrus hit, with notes of raspberries, blackberries and milk chocolate.
Palate: Salty at first, with good oaky spice and excellent mouthfeel – like silk running across my palate. Something herbal, lots of tingle. Also a bit of nuttiness amongst the sweeter notes.
Finish: Drying at front of palate with liquorice and toffee.
Comment: Classic: fruity, spicy, rich, unctuous and a superb mouthfeel.
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Coffee saturated, herbal Oloroso with marmalade, treacle and fragrant spices. Prune and sweet, sun-dried raisin comes through. French coffee, treacle-toffee and wood spices.
Palate: Quite sweet with sugar coated raisins and orange. Treacle, walnut and what appears to be sweet grain spirit notes appear on the middle.
Finish: Long and walnutty with lingering macerated dates and what appears to be herbal spirit notes.
Comment: Is this a first fill Oloroso matured blend? It certainly gives that impression.
