Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: This takes time to grow out of the glass, and when it does it reveals white flowers, huge vanilla and whipped cream notes and just a hint of toasted oak.
Palate: A little thin, even at 49% ABV this could have done with a bit more oomph. But what is there is a good example of grain whisky, with more toasted oak and marshmallow.
Finish: Sweet green tea and lavender make this a refreshing dram.
Comment: Not the greatest grain ever, but certainly not the worst. Middling to good.
8.3
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Fragrant with cereal husks, apricot, coconut and dried fruit. Becomes herbal with a touch of wood smoke. Water emphasises the cereal and oils.
Palate: Fuller than the nose with fleshy apricot, herbs, coconut and milk chocolate. Very grainy (showing its youth) but intense. Water emphasises the natural oils but flattens too.
Finish: Intense and sharp with oak softening the edges. Neat, it is still austere, though diluted, it’s a little bitter.
Comment: A lovely, fresh, young grain. Avoid water – the alcohol gives it intensity.
