Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Butter cream and ginger with hints of brandy snaps and some vanilla. There are hints of oak spice which are much greater with a dash of water.
Palate: Oak spices provide a bed for vanilla, raspberry and white chocolate. There are hints of fresh lily, cut grass and chamois leather, which add spices to the mix.
Finish: Cherry jam, some more white chocolate and freeze dried strawberries. Fruity and smooth.
Comment: A curious dram; better with water but it loses some of its pre-diluted appeal.
8.5
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Tight and herbal with malt, barley, straw and dunnage. Mature with toasty, fragrant oak, lime, greengage, gooseberry and rye-like herbs. Water brings out the oak and citrus.
Palate: Softer and more open with apricots in light syrup, malt, straw and rye-like herbs. Well integrated and keeps the oak in check. Water flattens as it emphasises the oils.
Finish: Neat, it’s a little masked, but herbal with sweet American oak.
Comment: Neat the alcohol is well contained until the finish. Great nose.
