Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Earthy, shades of leaf mulch, burning Latakia tobacco. Brown sugar, bourbon biscuits, bolts of tweed fabric and black, overripe banana.
Palate: Those earthy notes come through, with gentle wood smoke, grass laden bonfires. There’s a little citrus fruit and then dark chocolate and toasted coconut.
Finish: Warming with quite a nice spice kick, dries with a tannin edge.
Comment: An interesting Speysider, one to try with something like smoked venison or cheese post dinner.
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Gorgeous orchard fruits, baked apples and pears, with golden syrup. Lovely vanilla, dried apricots. Fresh peaches in cream. The freshness fades to become grassy and honeyed.
Palate: Raw and aggressive with a husky, hoppiness. It’s vegetative, grassy and herbal with light fruits coming to the fore: apples, apricots, yet still quite bitter.
Finish: Just a slight astringent note, sharp acidity, grapefruits, and pepper. Unbalanced.
Comment: Not really doing anything for me.
