Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Gentle and floral, despite its ABV. Cherry blossom and wood sap, a forest in spring. There’s some wood here too, toasted oak and balsa model aeroplanes.
Palate: Full of wonderful woody, youthful notes, golden syrup and cherry compote. Fresh sponge cake with layers of vanilla custard and jam.
Finish: Takes its time with some gorgeous green tea tannins and maple syrup sweetness.
Comment: Stunning, doesn’t give its ABV away until right at the end. Well structured and balanced. Send a case immediately (joking of course, honestly).

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Salted caramel-coated digestive biscuits, ripe kiwis, banana yoghurt and roasted fig purée. Baked sweet potatoes with sea salt flakes and crushed pink peppercorns.
Palate: Hot salted peanuts, dark treacle ginger loaf, Marmite Twiglets and a buttery Oreo cookie crumble. Barbecued pink grapefruit segments, honeydew melon and a touch of chilli flakes
Finish: A little bit of water calms the heat down and smooths out the spice.
Comment: Opening a dusky larder full of all the delights.
