Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Overt 'sherry' notes: dried fruit, nuts etc. Similar to a palo cortado. A lovely red fruit quality alongside butter, raisin and, in time, toffee apple/baked apple and a hint of smoke.
Palate: Good rich weight and a soft feel. Chewy. Great balance.
Finish: Rounded.
Comment: An elegant, beautifully balanced whisky.

Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Very fruity, and nutty. Dark fruits, like figs.
Palate: Walnuts. Brandy butter. Big, sweet, malty background.
Finish: Cigar tobacco. Lingering warmth.
Comment: Can the elegant Yamazaki whisky stand up to heavy sherry? In this case, yes. A dexterously balanced malt.
