Tasting notes
Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: A gruff Christmassy nose with an enticing mix of fruit and spice. Fig rolls, a clove-studded orange, stewed plums and cloudy apple juice. Treacle toffee. With time a more meaty, herbaceous character barges in.
Palate: Sulphury with marmalade on brown toast.
Finish: The mouth-piece of a snorkelling mask.
Comment: An afterdinner tongue-lasher.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Mortlach? Silky sweet with raisin, malt extract, hard treacle toffee and prunes in syrup. With water a burnt, nutty, roasted character. Rich.
Palate: Blackstrap molasses and roasted meat. Manages to be sweet and grumbling at the same time.
Finish: Long, slightly dry and tannic but there's enough richness to balance.
Comment: Yup, it's Mortlach alright. Every bit as good as the OB.
