Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Smoky. Lightly peaty. Dry.
Palate: Oily at first, becoming lightly smoky, then a gritty minerally character.
Finish: Earthy, smoky dryness and a lingering suggestion of iron.
Comment: A substitute for the much-missed Talisker eight year-old? Perhaps, but neither as complex nor as robust.
7.8
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Malty and crisp. It seems pretty young with hard, lean immature notes of crab apple, unripe pear and light smoke.
Palate: Softer and sweeter than the nose suggests.
Finish: A little hard.
Comment: A straightforward young dram.
