Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Homemade flapjacks packed with dried fruit mix. Honey, baked oats, salted butter, apricot, coconut and plum raisins. Hints of autumn leaves too.
Palate: Follows on beautifully from the nose. The cereal notes pervade, wrapping up the fruit notes. Hints of citrus, squeezed limes and a little saline edge.
Finish: Quite sharp and swift, a slap of citrus, then it's gone.
Comment: A decent whisky with great integration from nose to palate. Almost balanced, but something lacking in the finish.
7.8
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Classical dried fruits, to the lighter side – apricots and sultanas. Baked apples, rum-toft. The pleasant fruit dies away. Malted milk biscuits, mossy, with citronella, becomes perfumed.
Palate: Very fruity! Apricot jam, lemon curd. Floral honey, and quite waxy too. Barley sugar and candied fruits. Some solvent notes cut through the fruit, then limes and grapefruit juice.
Finish: Fruit gums, grapefruit lingers, but the flavour fades swiftly.
Comment: A whisky interrupted. Wonderful while the flavours lasted.
