Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Gentle smokiness like chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Emphatic 'box of chocolates' aroma: Orange cream pralines in black chocolate.
Palate: Texture and flavour of chocolate mousse cake. Powdered cocoa. Then juicy maltiness and understated vanilla-pod dryness.
Finish: Biscotti: chocolate and plain. A hint of toast. Charcoal, oak.
Comment: Beautifully constructed, very distinctive.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Big, sweet, concentrated. Chocolate orange, cocoa, raisins, sticky toffee pudding, black fruits, Madeira-like, bitter-sweet. Needs water to calm it and show balanced oak clearly.
Palate: Big, fat, rich. Rum, raisin, kumquat peel/marmalade. Chocolate, dried peel, vanilla.
Finish: Bitter chocolate.
Comment: A bling-bling dram. Goes wonderfully with cigars! (and fur coats and gold jewellery).
