Tasting notes

Taster Chris Goodrum

Nose: Aromatic and dusty. Plenty of mature oak, tropical pineapple, apricot and melon. Elegant and deep with a touch of creamy vanilla, light coffee, oxidised fruit and earthy tannins.
Palate: Soft and elegant, opening with some coffeed tannins followed by beautifully honeyed apricot and pineapple. Lightly creamy on the middle with vanilla and hints of granulated sugar sprinkled barley.
Finish: Very long and juicy with the succulent fruit lingering and a light spice note appearing. I finished with a delightful fresh citrus twist.
Comment: Beautifully mature and elegant.

Taster Joel Harrison

Nose: Butterscotch, polished pine, dusty coal scuttle, pickled ginger and vanilla.
Palate: Green apple dusted with cinnamon, pork belly crackling, slightly salty, soy sauce and mizo soup. Once the meaty elements retire, there are some fruits (apricot and satsuma). A meal in a mouthful.
Finish: More of the orange and satsuma elements, a hint of vanilla and a little spice.
Comment: A really, really drinkable whisky. No idea of the price point, but if this is anywhere near 'reasonable' then clear a space for it in your cabinet.
