Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Bags of oak to open with, like opening a newly loaded woodshed, seasoned hardwood and resin. A packet of Haribo sweets, especially cola bottles. Black bananas in golden syrup. Dry roasted nuts.
Palate: Initially lots of malty notes, Horlicks, nutty granola, malt extract. Crystallised ginger in milk chocolate, then morphs into all-butter flaky pastries.
Finish: Sort of vanishes quickly leaving Belgian chocolate – remember those seashells?
Comment: A whisky for sitting down and throwing the cork away with friends.

Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Autumnal fruits with blueberries, candyfloss grapes and dried apricots. Rhubarb jam on toasted rye bread with coconut flakes and chargrilled limes. Cardamom.
Palate: Spice forward, with burnt almond nuts, barbecued corn, salted butter and peppercorn sauce. Cauliflower purée, toffee-covered prunes and sage oatmeal stuffing.
Finish: Meaty. Date sponge with ground ginger and maple-drizzled bacon.
Comment: A fruity breakfast. Rye bread and maybe a few rashers of bacon.
