Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: There’s some hay bale sweetness and manuka honey. Trail mix, with flaked almonds and coconut. Some red fruits come through and a little hot chocolate.
Palate: Orange zest and treacle cake (or Parkin cake depending on where you are from). Chocolate Angel Delight. Then dried pipe tobacco, cherry flavoured, and hints of spiced oak too.
Finish: Takes its time with the fruit notes drying off to leave cherry tobacco sweetness.
Comment: Good solid stuff, once it breathes it starts to release all of its layers.
8.2
Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Honeycomb, cinder toffee and apple laces with shots of linseed oil, gorse flower and hot tea. There’s delicious fruits with dried mango, sugared honeydew melon and pineapple cubes.
Palate: Coffee cake, cedar wood, used coffee grains and struck matches. Sweet melon is quickly overtaken by bitter dark cocoa powder, beetroot and wet bark.
Finish: Chewy and bold with a charred oak bitterness.
Comment: Split personality, with an unexpected earthy side on the palate.
