Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Big sweet oloroso impact, raisin and a hint of sulphur adding a lift. There's walnut, sticky toffee pudding, coffee bean & black vetiver on top of stewed apple.
Palate: Solid toffee-ed start. Super ripe black fruits. Balancing tannins. Robust weight and deep nuttiness shifts into treacle toffee.
Finish: Spicy.
Comment: Deep, layered and sweet with great balance. Seek it out.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Winey. Oaky. Red wine (or port cask), damp warehouse. Raisins,a hint ofchocolate. Oak dominates. Dry walnut.
Palate: Sweet and crisp. The spicy burst comes quickly, covering the sweet fruit. Sultanas, dates, figs. Ginger. White pepper. Quite sherbety.
Finish: Dry. Spices dust. A hint of sulphur.
Comment: A port finish? The port or sherry influence is patent. It has conveyed a lot of sweetness, maybe too much. Alongside with oakiness (but a sweet one, nothing astringent).
