Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Rhubarb and custard boiled sweets on the nose. Over time, oak appears.
Palate: Quince jelly, apricots and strawberry yoghurt make for a fruity dram which is very drinkable indeed. A very approachable whisky.
Finish: Too much oak, which is forgiven by such an easy going palate.
Comment: Classic whisky making has given this a tight flavour, if not a little lacking in personality. Very easy to drink.
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Another whisky with a fruit fool note on the nose, this time raspberry. Creamy, with hints of oak ageing, some dried fruit notes and a little liquorice spice.
Palate: The dried fruit and liquorice of the nose hit the palate first, with a slightly rubbery sherry note – not unpleasant, but enough to make you take notice. It’s gone in a second with sweet caramel and figs rounding out the taste.
Finish: Very dry, with oaky overtones and a hint of dried fruit.
Comment: Fruity, dry, with a touch of sherry. Speysider done reasonably well I’d say…
