Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Fresh apricots and peach slices in syrup. Sultana and Robinson’s Fruit & Barley orange and lemon squash (cordial). Dusty dunnage and manuka honey. All this fruit is balanced by base notes of toffee.
Palate: Sherry-soaked apricots on a flan base, peach gummy sweets and toffee apples at the fairground.
Finish: Medium-short, ends with more peach syrup and coffee cream-filled milk chocolates.
Comment: Sweet and uncomplicated, but a solid Speysider. I can see the bottle disappearing quickly!
7.9
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Like old tools in a tool box. Orange zest and sherry-soaked raisins. Gentle burnt chocolate. Dry spiced note of rye bread.
Palate: Light on the mouthfeel initially, then the oily notes return, this time like an oily garage cloth. A nod to sherried fruit and sticky toffee pudding with creamy ice cream.
Finish: Medium length and pleasantly creamy.
Comment: It’s sweet and pretty charming, exactly as it is.
