Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Overripe banana and pineapple, scrumpy cider and delightful yeastiness. Spicy cereals and plenty of cinnamon stick, cigar tobacco and leather.
Palate: Full bodied. Strawberry jam on buttered fruit scones, mincemeat (the Christmas kind), bittersweet walnut liqueur and amaro. Almond and subtle gingerbread.
Finish: Long, nutty and leathery. Cigar-like.
Comment: Complex and flawless. This is something that would hold up well during a long night of conversation.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Trifle tang, sweet doughy grain, light sherried warmth, apple crumble, nail polish remover and a little mango sweetness.
Palate: Buttery goodness, crumbly fudge, more of that sherry trifle, cherry, cocoa powder, toasted rye bread spice warmth, with a little raisin.
Finish: Raisiny sherry dries out to that cocoa powder, almost like a dusted truffle.
Comment: I’m impressed. It’s not overpoweringly hot and the balance of sherry notes is rich and inviting.
