Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Toffee caramel bars, then sherbet and very faint liquorice. Wax jackets and warm tweed blankets. Sweetness with sugar coated almonds, honey roast cashew nuts. A little Playdoh edge. Cigarette papers and recently snuffed candles.
Palate: Green tea with honey, cough syrup and rose Turkish Delight coated in milk chocolate. Cheese scones with salted butter. Damson jam.
Finish: Long. Hints of raspberry and strawberry compote.
Comment: Magnificent, a rip-roaring whisky giving great pleasure.

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Calpol. In fact, I actually googled what Calpol smells like because it’s such a distinctive aroma. There’s ripe mango flesh, Love Heart sweets, dried cranberries and Dundee cake too.
Palate: Pineapple rings with oak smoked ham, peach yoghurt, heather honey and sultanas. Torched grapefruit peel, wholemeal pancakes and ground cinnamon.
Finish: A long dry finish with a strong nutty influence from the oak.
Comment: Straightforward and uncomplicated with tropical delightfulness.
